- Broadcast professionals use 720 pixels per line active picture and
- either 576 lines (625/50 system) or 487 lines (525/60 system).
- This is a pixel rate of 13.5MHz for both systems and is specified
- as ITU-R BT601-4 last time I looked. Naturally these are ten bits
- per colour, but they "cheat" on the number of samples for U and V
- components, the sum of U (360) and V (360) is the same as just
- in Y (720). Now if the Amiga could have a professional video
- interface, even at only eight bits per component, that would be
- the total market killer! Oh yes the output interface is on a
- single coax serially multiplexed at 270MHz, cable lengths up to
- 300metres.

- Absolute essential. The choice of flicker fixed or standard
- video is one of many key reasons I stay with Ami. :^)
-
- Professional Audio interface would also be nice, as well as MIDI
- how about AES/EBU serial digital? With control over sample rates,
- and access to the data words. The chips exist and are getting
- very cheap in quantity. Another killer application!
